Dear Diary,
it has been 28 days since the last update and not much has changed.
It is a slow progress.
The leg hurts constantly, and I sleep badly. The pain is a nasty discomfort, less acute, more numb, constant, tense, swollen.
My therapist says it is because we put it into a new position every day, and it needs to get used to this every day from scratch.
No painkillers help, of any level - from easy stuff like paracetamol and ibuprofen to tramadol (opiate).
It is just a matter of not sleeping two nights in a row to get knocked out by the third, and then collect a few more hours than usual.
The assisted flexion is now at around 130 degrees, active flexion is at around 100 degrees (meaning that’s how much I can raise my leg when lying on my belly) if my leg is warmed up before. A long way to go to 140 degrees active.
Habits
The WHM breathing has largely been left by the wayside due to my OCD nature - when I interrupt a habit it is gone. I will have to work my way up to it again. Yes, I am a broken robot.
Other than that, I try to go to sleep early and post-therapy still knocks me out real good for an hour or two if I have time.
Food
I still do not eat super healthy, but way better than before. I find that I feel best (like super good) when I eat my supplements and Mana immediately after therapy, it is filling and invigorating.
Other Stuff
Sauna and ice pool hit a road block - since Croatia is a tradecraft wasteland now…
…it is very hard to find people who want to exchange handiwork for money, so it has been very difficult to find someone to prepare the terrace in my yard for an enclosure for the sauna and pool (both of which are ready and waiting for installation). I am currently waiting for an offer from the one person I managed to find.
Walk-wise, I can go for like an hour without too much pain but then need to rest - this is probably because I focus very hard on extending my leg fully and so tense up a lot while walking any distance.
That’s important because if I don’t, my leg gets used to being semi-flexed all the time, and then I limp, which leads to a whole host of other problems.
I am not sure how often I will be updating this since nothing notable changes day to day - it is all minute, incremental updates. Going forward, I will probably document milestones and bigger changes only.
